My husband is a wonderful gift giver. I am not so good at it, but trying non the less. This is my Mother's Day cake that he had someone make. Yes, it says my name on it. What in the world am I going to do for Father's Day?
Marci had her Laurel's put together this cute baby quilt for their leader that is on bed rest with baby #3. I just added the ruffle. I think she will love it.
Making the ruffle goes pretty fast on the surger. I put the first two numbers on tight (high numbers) and the last two numbers on loose (low numbers). A ruffle can also be made on the sewing machine using a large zig zag over a kite string. Pin the material in place (equally spaced) and pull the kite string to gather the material.
Amy's Camp PJs are a Hoot with little owls all over them. Drawstring waist, super easy.
Shelley's camp Pjs are soft and silky.
Here's a bonus pair made of chiffon fur. They are so funny. I put elastic at the waist and ankles. Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake. Shake your......! Sing along.
Nephi is requested often, so here goes again. I made a tunic with eyelets in front to be laced up by a leather lace. The fur piece just drapes over the shoulder with a piece of leather around the waist tied with strapes of leather. Headband, armbands and legbands add just the right details. Metal eyelets and leather straps were the key to this costume. Cody modeled this Nephi Costume for me and was not too happy about it. He thought he had better things to do with his time. This is Rachel's little black dress that needed sleeves and more inches on the hem. So, I added a 5" circle hem and some 6" sleeves. The blacks are not a perfect match, but close enough. She feels so much better with this coverage.
For those of us that are on the short side, buying jeans can be difficult. Well, here's the new way to hem those cute jeans and still keep the original jean stitching on the hem.
I cut off the very bottom of the hem with the original stitching, trim the extra inches that are too long, then re-attach the original hem and top stitch it with the same color thread as the jean. You will want to surge or zigzag the raw edges on the inside.
